A WEDDING fair in Morpeth Town Hall has been hailed a great success.

Nearly 300 people turned up to meet Northumberland-based businesses which were showcasing their services to those planning their big day.

The traders at the county council-organised event included jewellers, outfitters, florists, photographers, car-hire companies and cake-makers.

Coun Val Tyler, the authority’s policy board member for community infrastructure and culture, said: “There were lots of positive comments from those who attended and they found it helpful to meet local suppliers and talk to our registrars all in one venue.”
