A COUNTY organisation has received a funding boost.

The Northumberland Fell Runners raised money for two good causes across three races – Beacon Hill, Simonside Cairns and the Hillforts and Headaches.

The money was split between the Northumberland National Park Mountain Rescue Team (NNPMRT) and the Great North Air Ambulance and Paul Appleby, the main organiser of the races, recently handed over a cheque for £400 to Iain Nixon, deputy team leader of the NNPMRT.

Mr Appleby thanked everyone involved, including the course marshals and those responsible for race registration/results and the prizegivings.
