Temporary road closures will be in place in Morpeth for a major cultural event.
The Morpeth Northumbrian Gathering, which is a celebration of the county’s music, arts, language and traditions, takes place over three days later this month, offering more than 60 different events.
One of the most popular attractions is the annual Saturday morning Border Cavalcade and Pageant, which this year is at 11am on April 26.
Roads in Morpeth town centre will be closed for a short while for the procession to pass through.
Gathering Chairman Kim Bibby-Wilson said: “The Gathering organisers are anxious that people are aware of the road closure for a period on the Saturday morning. It should only be for an hour.
“There will also be a free park and ride service from County Hall using vintage buses. We do hope it will encourage more people to come into the town and visitors always say what a warm welcome they receive.
“In order to consider the safety of the public during the procession, we do have to have the road closure.”
