Flood alert for River Pont

THE River Pont and its tributaries have been put on flood alert.

This setting means that flooding is possible later in the day, so residents should be prepared.

The update from the Environment Agency says: “River levels are continuing to rise due to heavy rainfall overnight and in the early hours of the morning.

“Although current river levels are high but stable, further heavy rainfall is expected throughout the afternoon and into the evening. River levels in the area are expected to rise again later today.”
