A QUARTET of Morpeth pupils are aiming for a performance par excellence in a spelling competition.

Rosie Bowden, Amber Coundon, Hannah Freeman and Megan Woods will represent Chantry Middle School in the North East section of the Routes into Languages French Spelling Bee for Year 7s at Newcastle University.

Amber said: “It wasn’t easy getting through the school round as a lot of us did well. I’m practising countries and clothes words the most.”

Hannah added: “We’re grateful for the advice of Adam Blower and Cameron Dick, who took part in the contest last year.”
