Pegswood Garden Competition Mr Turner. Most Attractive Front Garden

MANY Pegswood residents kept their green spaces in top-top condition despite the wet weather this summer.

And with a high standard of entries to choose from, the village’s second annual Gardens in Bloom competition was hailed a success.

The competition, organised by Pegswood Parish Council, was judged by Morpeth Town Council Clerk Gillian Turner and recently retired Pegswood Parish Clerk Peter Basnett.

Parish Council Clerk Kevin Cassie said: “Yet again I am amazed by the efforts of the gardeners of Pegswood. This display, and the fact that we have been able to allocate all the new allotments on Station Cottages, show that gardening is a big part of the village.

“It is just a shame that we had no entries for gardens where children had an involvement. This is something to aim for next year.

“Our thanks go to the judges, who were impressed by the quality of the entries, for an excellent job and to Cookswell Garage for sponsoring the event again.

“And Peter has kindly sponsored the provision of a Best in Show trophy, which will form part of the competition next year.”
