A NEW five-year strategy that focuses on meeting the housing needs of a significant number of Northumberland residents has been unveiled.
Plans to deliver new affordable homes, maintain and improve existing housing stock and provide support to people who need it have been set out by the county council in its document that covers the 2013-18 period.
Its three key themes are as follows: ensuring people can access affordable and quality housing, supporting people to lead healthy and independent lives and supporting sustainable local economies and communities.
The strategic housing service is also developing complimentary strategies to support the private rented sector and home-owners, as well as the accommodation and housing-related support needs for vulnerable groups of people.
