Keep up-to-date with college’s smart app

SMARTPHONE users can keep up-to-date with what is happening at Northumberland College through its new app.

The free service has just gone live on Apple’s iTunes and will soon be available from the Android market.

The app gives mobile access to information and photos on all of the college’s centres across the county.

Current and future students, parents and visitors can find out what life is like at the college, get directions to the campuses with interactive maps, find out about events and get advice and support.

Prospective students can search the range of courses on offer and apply for courses directly from their smartphone and current students can connect with Blackboard to communicate with tutors, access assignments, timetables and more.

Northumberland College Principal Chris Todd said: “The app is another communication method to allow us to make information accessible to people wanting to find out about our courses and campuses.

“We are in a generation of growing digital communication and it is important we meet the needs of our potential and current learners with media they can relate to. We will continue to develop digital communication methods to keep up with changing needs.”
