Landlords advised of burglaries

LANDLORDS have been urged to help protect their vacant property from thieves.

Police have warned of a number of burglaries in the area where thieves have broken into vacant properties and stolen copper piping, wiring and boilers, or caused damage.

Landlords are advised to make sure their buildings are secure and well maintained to avoid becoming a target.

They should carry out regular checks, consider erecting net curtains or blinds, and ensure adequate locks are fitted.
