Official retires from police role

Have your say

THE area’s Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner has stepped down from the role.

Mark Dennett was appointed to the job by Northumbria Police and Crime Commissioner Vera Baird when she took up her post in November 2012.

He had previously worked as a Chief Superintendent for the Northumbria force and headed up Northumberland Area Command.

Mr Dennett used his policing experience to advise the Commissioner about the Force and the demands upon it.

He has now retired.
