Otter-ly adorable!
AN adorable otter cub has made a full recovery after being abandoned by its mother.
The animal, which is thought to be six to eight weeks old, has been cared for by The Sanctuary Wildlife Care Centre in Ulgham after it was found in Alwinton.
A woman had seen it lying motionless on a river bank for two days and contacted the centre for help.
The cub was close to death, but has now made a full recovery, although sight problems mean it can never be released back into the wild.
Sanctuary owner Kim Olson said: "The otter is doing absolutely brilliantly.
"She is doing very well, but we have realised that she is either partially sighted or blind and that really confirms why she was found.
"Her mother would simply have abandoned her because in the wild mothers won't waste time on anything that is not 100 percent fit because they don't have the energy.
"She was in a terrible state and extremely dehydrated. We fed her warm goats' milk at first, but now she eats a fresh trout from Morrisons' deli every day.
"She has a bath in our tub every night. My seven-year-old son watches her and is amazed because she is such a good swimmer."
Children are now being asked to come up with a name for the otter, with the result announced at the Sanctuary's Autumn Fair.
The winner will receive an otter adoption pack, complete with a photograph and certificate, and there may be a chance to see the animal.
The fair will take place on Sunday, October 25, from 11am to 3pm.
Otter adoption packs are available for 25 each, with the proceeds going to Sanctuary funds.
