Parking tops concerns list

THE Telford Bridge traffic lights have come only second to parking in a list of Stobhill residents’ concerns.

A survey carried out by local councillor Ian Lindley in his Focus newsletter found that 63 per cent of respondents cited parking as a problem, while 56 per cent mentioned the lights.

Litter, dog fouling, eyesores and anti-social behaviour were the other issues.

Coun Lindley said: “To me, the results weren’t a surprise. Obviously, the traffic lights are a problem and in my opinion they should be replaced by something a lot better.

“In terms of parking, that is an issue right across the country, but charges are necessary. You can’t run a traffic management system on nothing. People who pretend you can do it for free are living in cloud-cuckoo-land.”
