Police hunt home raiders

BURGLARS have made off with hundreds of pounds of goods after striking at two Ponteland homes.

A brick was used to smash the window of a home in Eastern Way, Darras Hall, between 5pm and 8pm on Wednesday, February 20.

Items stolen included jewellery, a television, two iPads, clothing, a Kindle Fire and several hundred pounds in cash.

It follows a burglary in Middle Drive on Monday, February 11, sometime between 9am and 6pm.

The haul included a Sony VIO laptop, a Blackberry Curve mobile phone, a pair of Tiffany gold earrings, a Dell projector, a Pandora bracelet with charms, a blue pendant, two Fossil watches, a bottle of 33-year-old single malt Maxwell whisky, a Sony digital camera and cash.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen two men driving a black Vauxhall Corsa in the area between 1.30pm and 2.15pm that day.

Inquiries into both break-ins are ongoing. Anyone with information should contact police on 101, ext 69191, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
