PLANS to show the progress on Morpeth’s flood alleviation scheme have been put off due to bad weather.
An open day and exhibition had been organised by the Environment Agency at Morpeth Rugby Club tomorrow.
It was to include free coach trips to Mitford for people to see work on the upstream floodwater storage dam and ask questions about the techniques being used to construct it.
However, due to heavy rain in recent days and a forecast for fog on Friday, the ground conditions may be unsuitable for visitors and a decision has been taken to cancel the event.
It will be rescheduled at a later date.
