Pupils offered college taster
SCHOOL students are being offered the chance to get hands-on experience of college courses.
Northumberland College will hold a taster day at its Kirkley Hall and Ashington campuses next week for Year 10 and 11 pupils.
The event will allow the 15 and 16-year-olds to sample some of the wide range of courses available, including animal care, agriculture, electrical engineering, hairdressing, beauty therapy, sport and hospitality.
Director of Curriculum Nigel Lister said: “GCSE students should book now to guarantee their space.
“The Taster Day is an excellent opportunity to sample life as a college student. You can come in and have a look around and try out some fun and interesting course-related activities across the range of different subjects that are available here.”
The event will take place on Monday, from 9.30am to 3.30pm. A full list of activities can be found online at www.north umberland.ac.uk
