IT was safety first and last at a Morpeth school as a series of guests were invited along.

Pupils at Morpeth All Saints First School in Lancaster Park used their Creative Week this year to focus on health and safety.

But there was plenty of fun to accompany the serious messages, and lots of hands-on activities.

Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service showed off a fire engine and fire-fighting equipment, police officers warned of the stranger danger and children had a go at putting on bandages as part of a session on first aid training.

Storyteller Chris Bostock was also invited along and told stories relating to bullying.
