A MORPETH-BASED organisation has received funding support from town schoolchildren.

The Northumberland County Blind Association provided advice to Chantry Middle School and Technology College when it was developing a new garden and outdoor learning centre about including sensory features. This included staff and pupils going to its headquarters in Low Stanners to find out the best types of plants to put in the garden for those with vision impairment.

As a thank-you, a non-uniform day was held and Chantry raised a total of £254.43 for the organisation.

The money will help pay for a tutor to teach some computer skills to members who are partially-sighted.
