Students inspire school group

STUDENTS in Morpeth have helped a North East school to increase its pupil power.

Four students from Mortimer Community College in South Shields visited King Edward VI School’s Student Voice section earlier this academic year and were so inspired that they decided to establish their own body.

It has been so successful that Mortimer Student Voice invited its KEVI counterparts to its first senior student elections. They enjoyed a tour of the college, before the election results were announced by the Mayoress of South Shields.

The schools are looking forward to further collaborative work during 2013.
