Terrific twins Sarah and Daniel Larby have bagged a haul of no fewer than 19 A grades, including a string of stars, in their impressive GCSE results.
The Morpeth pair racked up the results at King Edward VI School after sitting the exams earlier this summer.
Daniel led the way with six A*s, three As and an A* with distinction, but Sarah was close on his tail with four A*s and five A grades, as well as a B.
Daniel said: “We have done pretty well so I think we’re both quite happy.
“I was a bit worried about geography because the exams changed quite a lot, but I got an A in the end.
“I’m in the school’s astronomy club and have been involved in building an observatory at the old ski slope so that helped to take my mind off the results. I wasn’t really worried.”
Sarah said: “For science and maths we worked together quite a bit, but we did different GCSEs so it wasn’t like that for all the subjects. Our mum helped us with English because she is in teaching.
“I was just hoping for anything above a C so I’m happy with the results.”
Now both twins are set to head into the school’s sixth form, with Sarah studying art, English language, product design and French, and Daniel taking A-Levels in maths, further maths, physics and music.
