A COUNTY charity has reached its £75,000 fund-raising target to improve one of its nature areas.

The appeal was launched with the aim of transforming the Northumberland Wildlife Trust’s Hauxley reserve on Druridge Bay into an exceptional place to watch wildlife.

Thanks to the donations from a range of organisations, as well as members of the public and volunteers, it will now be able to purchase the 12 acres of farmland adjacent to the existing reserve.

This will allow the trust to create circular walking routes that will take visitors past a wide range of natural features, viewpoints, information boards and seating.
