COUNTY residents are being asked to give a charity’s fund-raising drive a helping hand.

Marie Curie Cancer Care needs volunteer collectors to encourage people to wear a daffodil pin and give a donation to its Great Daffodil Appeal in March. Money raised will enable it to provide more free care to those with terminal illnesses in their own homes.

The charity is also looking for additional people to join the Morpeth fund-raising group – call 0191 2191205 for more information – and Michelle Foggo, who will soon be group secretary, said: “If we have lots of volunteers giving up time when they can, the load can be shared and we will see great rewards.”
