COMMUNITY facilities in Hepscott are on the up after much-needed make-overs.
The Herald previously reported on the successful refurbishment of Hepscott Parish Hall, which has seen an increase in bookings since refurbishment was completed earlier this year, including the installation of new disabled toilets.
Hepscott Parish Council worked with the Hall Committee to raise funds and co-ordinate the work.
And the authority is also behind improvements to Stobhill Manor play area.
The facility had been threatened with closure, but has now been brought up to modern standards and recently passed an inspection by health and safety officials with flying colours.
Parish Chairman Derrick Melia said: “It is good to see the completion of these two projects of which the community can be proud.
“Neither would have been possible without the support of our county councillor David Towns, who has shown interest in the parish throughout.”
