TWO local girls are hoping to become the next Miss Tees Valley.

Emily Ludgate, 22, from Hartlepool and 17-year-old Morgan Murray, from Billingham, have made the final of the competition, which will be held at Billingham’s Swan Hotel on Novermber 21.

The winner will qualify for the national final of the Top Model of England and Miss Multiverse UK, and become the face of the Cleveland Centre in Middlesbrough which is sponsoring the competition.

The prize, totalling £5,000, will include a makeover by Middlesbrough firm Flawless, with a modelling portfolio website, and a £500 shopping voucher.

A fashion show featuring the finalists will be hosted by the Cleveland Centre in July, with support of popular stores, Top Shop, New Look and Psyche’s Style Lab.

Cleveland Centre manager Graeme Skillen said: “We’re delighted to continue our support for a contest that promotes positive female role models.”

Also a prize is awarded to the finalist raising the most for Stockton’s Butterwick Hospice charity.

Pageant director Alexandra Devine said: “We’re looking for another Teesside ambassador – a top model and a role model.”

Applicants are aged 16-29 and live, work, study or are from the Tees Valley area.
