THE South East Northumberland branch of the M.S. Society gathered recently for their Christmas dinner in St James’s Community Hall.
It was decided to hold the dinner in the spring, hence the chocolate Easter bunnies, as the nights are very dark and often with bad weather in December.
The evening was largely organised by Mrs Barbara Clasper, who was thanked for her efforts by the branch. The raffle was a huge hamper, which was won by Barbara.
The evening was a great success and the programme for the new year continues on June 13 when the speaker is Ms B Shields from Castle Morpeth Disability Association, who will talk on the handyman services available, and Mrs J Scott who will brief us on her visit to Manchester Life, the largest conference in Europe on the subject of M.S.
The branch exists to support and enable sufferers of M.S and their families and friends. The group meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm in St James’ Community Hall. For further information call the helpline on 01670 858939.
