SOUTH NORTHUMBERLAND BRANCH OF THE MS SOCIETY

On the night of Wednesday, May 13, the branch held its Annual Meeting.

South East Northumberland and Tynedale have now merged, and it was a pleasure to have members from the Hexham area attend.

John Sanderson gave what will be his final annual report, as he is retiring from the chairmanship. Stephen Proom, Treasurer, and Ray Scott, Fund-raising Officer, also retired. Ray was unable to attend the meeting, but sent his apologies, as did Susan Timlin, the outgoing Secretary.

Elections for the committee were held and Jackie Scott was elected the new Chairman, with John Sanderson moving to Vice-Chairman, and Stephen Proom assuming the role of Secretary. Fiona Bainbridge will take over as Treasurer. Pete Sadler was elected Vice-Chairman for the Tynedale region.

In his last act as outgoing Chairman, John Sanderson was delighted to present Anne Moore with the MS Society’s Shining Star award, in recognition of her invaluable work over many years as Events Co-ordinator.

The members then enjoyed an excellent buffet, followed by a prize raffle.
