PENSIONERS in Northumberland are being urged to switch on to vital support to reduce their energy bills.

Age UK Enterprises, the commercial services arm of Age UK, and E.ON are calling on people in receipt of Pension Credit to take advantage of free cavity wall and standard loft insulation, plus a cheque for £100 towards their energy bill.

Age UK estimates that one in three of those eligible for it in the UK still are not claiming it, and many could also be missing out on insulation.

E.ON experts calculated that the average homeowner can save up to £390 a year on their energy bills by having cavity wall and loft insulation installed.

Those who qualify do not have to be an E.ON customer to apply for the offer.

For more information visit eonenergy.com/insulation or call 0845 302 4253. Lines are open between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Friday, and from 8am to 6pm on Saturdays.
