Olympic legacy lives on

THE Olympic legacy is burning bright with free sporting sessions.

The Give It A Go scheme, funded by Northumberland County Council, has been running in leisure centres throughout the summer to offer people of all ages and abilities the chance to try out a variety of sports.

The last sessions will take place from Monday to Sunday next week and include archery, badminton, boxing, cycling, swimming, rowing and sailing. There will also be activities for people with disabilities.

The programme has secured the Olympic Inspire Mark.

Leaflets detailing the sessions are available at leisure centres, including Morpeth and Ponteland, or online at www.northumberland.gov.uk
