THERE were fun and games all night long as a Morpeth youth group staged a charity sleepover.

A total of 24 members and helpers at the 1st Morpeth Boys Brigade took part in the event at the Boys Brigade Hall in Manchester Street to raise funds for Barnardos.

Each of the children received a special award for their efforts and £78 was collected for the charity.

Fund-raising and sleep-overs are just a few of the many activities undertaken by the group, with members regularly enjoying paintballing sessions, football tournaments, bowling evenings and other sporting events.

There are also competitions between all of the brigades in the area.

Sessions for the over 11 age group take place at the Morpeth hall on Tuesdays and Fridays, while the five to 11-year-olds meet on Thursdays.

For more information contact Kevin Purdy (over 11s) on 01670 531540 or Clive Kemp (five to 11s) on 07866 017909. Alternatively, call into the hall one evening.
