A SPECIAL anniversary party will be held in Morpeth Town Hall as a long-running charity changes its name.
Hearing loss support charity RNID celebrates its centenary next week, but there’s no sign of slowing down as it kicks off its next chapter with a change of name to Action on Hearing Loss.
To mark the occasion the organisation is hosting an information session in Morpeth where people can take part in a range of activities, including trying out equipment that helps people who are deaf or hard of hearing.
There will also be the chance to find out about the various support that is available from local services, as well as the opportunity to enjoy some birthday cake.
Volunteer Co-ordinator Sandra Welburn said: “We’re looking forward to celebrating our centenary with a special event in Morpeth Town Hall, which will have something for everyone.
“Visitors can find out about the charity’s crucial work encouraging people to take care of their hearing, as well as local projects and services which improve the everyday lives of people who are deaf or hard of hearing.”
The event takes place on Thursday, June 9, from 2pm to 4pm.
