WORKERS based at a Northumberland garden centre will use pedal power to raise money for a good cause.

Two employees at the Cotton Traders shop in Heighley Gate Nursery & Garden Centre are hosting a sponsored exercise bike cycling event for Help for Heroes.

Heighley Gate General Manager Roger Wale said: “Eilish Nicholson and Hannah Winskell will be cycling on a static bike during the day.

“They will try to cycle as many miles as they can and will be collecting sponsorship money.

“Customers will also be able to make donations to Help for Heroes on the day.”

The event will take place on Saturday, November 26, from 10am to 4pm.

The Help for Heroes charity, which was launched in September 2007, endeavours to provide better facilities for wounded servicemen and women.
