Residents were rewarded for their glorious gardens in an annual competition.

Judges Kevin Cassie and Peter Basnett were impressed by the quality of all the entries for Pegswood in Bloom.

The Peter Basnett Award for the Best Overall Entry went to William Hall of Beaumont Court.

Pegswood Parish Council chairman Simon Willcox said: “This competition shows that we have a good community spirit and it’s fantastic that so many residents take the time, have the energy and put the effort in to make their garden look wonderful.”

Results: Most Attractive Garden: 1 Mr William Hall, 2 Mrs G Kerr (Charles Street), 3 Mr T Vasey (Climbing Tree Walk), commended Mary Fletcher (Howard Grove), Mrs M Green (Howard Grove), Mrs Butler (Castle Way), Neil Armstrong (Warkworth Drive), Pat Carrick (Titchfield Terrace), Brenda Dickinson (Chevington Close); Best Individual Container: 1 Pat Scott (Langwell Terrace), 2 Mr William Hall, 3 Brenda Dickinson, commended Mr Malcolm Scrowther (Charles Street), Mr T Vasey, Mrs G Kerr; Best Business: 1 Little Bistro (Uniun Depot).
