MEMBERS met at St Margaret’s Church Hall on June 5.
President Mrs Nancy Fowlie welcomed Mr Andy Griffin to the meeting, who spoke about The Golden Age of Northumbria and its importance in the years 200 BC right up to 670 AD.
The talk, which was accompanied by slides, was much enjoyed by members. Tea and biscuits were served before moving on to the business of the day.
The trip to Groome Gardens was finalised. There will be a barbecue in August and the institute’s birthday party in October. The competition for the most items in a small matchbox was won by Mrs Liz Bradshaw, who managed 90 items.
Thanks to everyone who supported the stall on Saturday, June 2, at the Picnic in the Park in Pegswood. The competition for name the doll was won by Rachel Woods. The name was Elizabeth.
