MORE than a third of the pharmacies in Northumberland have been accredited in a Healthy Living programme.

The scheme was set up by Northumberland County Council in partnership with the Local Pharmaceutical Committee last September to turn pharmacies into community hubs, offering healthy living literature, advice and support.

In February, 27 pharmacies were accredited and now another ten have joined them. They include Wellway Pharmacy in Pegswood and Morpeth, Lynemouth Pharmacy, Health Hut in Morpeth and Boots pharmacies in Morpeth Market Place, Bridge Street and Stobhill.
