WHILT tributes were being paid to Emily Wilding Davison at the Derby on Saturday, a Morpeth department store held its own event to mark the centennial of her death.
Colin Caisley and Audrey Finlay, who live in the town, are Emily’s first cousins once removed. They unveiled a photograph of the Suffragette at Rutherfords.
Mr Caisley said: “We were delighted by Rutherfords’ marvellous gesture to mark the 100th anniversary.
“It is very important for the country to remember Emily Davison.”
