WANSBECK MP Ian Lavery will hear first-hand accounts of the Morpeth flood in a tour of the town.
The MP, whose constituency includes Morpeth, will be guided around some of the worst hit areas from the September 2008 disaster and meet residents who suffered.
The walkabout will take place tomorrow (Friday), beginning in Mitford Road at 3.30pm.
Mr Lavery will then be taken to High Stanners, Oldgate, Pretoria Avenue, Morpeth Riverside Leisure Centre, Carlisle View, Low Stanners and Middle Greens.
He will be accompanied by Morpeth Flood Action Group members Alan Bell and Trevor Walmsley.
Mr Bell said: “The aim of this is to give Mr Lavery greater understanding of the flood and see people who were affected by it. He will find out about the problems and see if there is anything he can do to help.
“We will also be presenting him with some of the letters about people’s flooding experience that we collected from our stall in Sanderson Arcade.”
