THE search is on for a new operator at Lynemouth Post Office following the news that the current operator has resigned.
Post office services will be temporarily unavailable in the village from August 16 as a result, with local MP Sir Alan Beith insisting that a new operator must be found.
“I have already started making enquiries with people in Lynemouth about possible alternatives and will help in any way I can to bring back this essential service,” he added.
“This must only be a temporary closure and I urge Post Office Ltd to work hard to fill what will be a big gap in this close-knit community.”
Suggestions about how services could be provided again can be made via his office – telephone 01665 602901 or email email@example.com
Alternative post office services for Lynemouth residents can be found in Ellington, Linton and Newbiggin.
