PR boss Keith Newman may be used to putting a spin on the news, but soon it will be records.

The Ulgham businessman, who runs Highlights PR, has joined community station Ultra Radio as a punk DJ.

The New Wave with Newman show will play well-known bands such as The Stranglers, The Clash and The Damned.

Mr Newman has already recorded interviews with Stiff Little Fingers front man Jake Burns and drummer Marky Ramone from The Ramones, while other guests lined up include Jarrow band Crashed Out, ex-Penetration vocalist Pauline Murray, Ramones tour manager Monte A Melnick and New York City punk photographer Roberta Bayley.

His show will be broadcast on Thursday evenings from June 9.

The station will launch two days earlier for a four-week trial, broadcasting to towns across south east Northumberland.
