The Ponteland High School students were praised for their efforts at the Winter Warmer event.

A group of Ponteland High School students volunteered their time on a Saturday to help out at a community event.

The aim of the Ponteland Winter Warmer at St Mary’s Church Hall – organised by Ageing Well in Ponteland, together with Northumbria Healthcare Trust – was to give out information about keeping safe and warm in winter and advice on support services and aids in the home to elderly residents.

Yasamin Bahrami, Simran Kular, Anisa Akram, Ashleigh Kelly, Evneesh Dhvisa and Lewis Carins received certificates from Ageing Well and the Northumbria Healthcare representatives said the Sixth Formers had ‘great enthusiasm’ and ‘excellent communication skills’.
