A NEW breakfast show has been drawing in local radio listeners this week.
Longhirst-based community station Koast Radio has signed experienced broadcaster Lee Finan for the morning programme during its trial FM licence period.
Mr Finan started in hospital radio at the age of 14 and went on to have a long career in commercial radio in the north east, as well as around the country.
He said: “I am delighted to be joining the Koast team.
“Community radio is very important and in some ways is filling the gap for locality, which has been lost in local radio due to networking and budget cuts.
“The breakfast show will be lively and fun and we want you, the local people to be involved, so make sure you get in touch.”
The station, which serves south east Northumberland, hopes to secure a full-time community licence next summer.
