A CHILDREN’S group became a red fund-raising army for Comic Relief.

The Jo Jingles music, singing and movement classes in Morpeth, Heighley Gate and Ponteland all gave money to the charity by paying to wear red at sessions last week, as well as buying cakes and biscuits.

The total amount raised by the classes for babies, toddlers and young children was £167.89.

Co-ordinator Helen Maltby said: “All the children really enjoyed themselves, especially on the drums as we only play them once a half term, and they got in the fundraising spirit by wearing red.

“We did a range of songs to get them active, including Pop Goes the Weasel and One Finger, One Thumb.”
