ROAD: Worried about the long-term

Have your say

When you come into Morpeth from the north you cannot help but notice the continued progress with the bypass over Cottingwood Common.

When you stand on the bridge over that road you will certainly get some spectacular scenic views from Northgate to St George’s, among others.

Speaking of St George’s Hospital, the upheaval to come in Dark Lane soon with the improvements to the sewage pipe infrastructure has been well advertised.

But I wonder how much of a time gap there will be between the end of the infrastructure enhancement and the work on the junction between Dark Lane and the road up to St George’s.

If a roundabout doesn’t go in there, the delays in Dark Lane may be noticeably greater than they are likely to be in the spring of 2017.
