SANTA’S sleigh will come with four wheels for poorly Northumberland children as a Morpeth motor dealer distributes gifts.
Davidsons of Morpeth will deliver a car boot full of presents to youngsters at Wansbeck Hospital this Christmas after collecting the gifts at its Coopies Way showroom.
The company is appealing for donations of toys to fill the boot of a Vauxhall Zafira, which will then be used to transport them to patients in the hospital’s children’s assessment unit, child health clinics and children’s orthopaedic clinics.
Managing Director Faye Tait said: “We all know how special Christmas is, especially for children, and this year we really want to get the local community involved in a project that we hope will give the kids at Wansbeck General Hospital a Christmas to remember.
“It’s amazing how such a small gesture can really make a profound difference so we would like to encourage everyone, whether they have children or not, to get involved and give a gift this Christmas.”
Nursery nurse Allison Melvyn is standing by in the children’s assessment unit to take delivery of the parcels.
She said: “We’re really grateful Davidsons of Morpeth has offered to help us provide gifts for the children at Wansbeck General Hospital.
“Christmas is obviously a very important time for children everywhere so it’s great that we’ve been given extra help this year.”
Anyone wishing to donate a gift can take it to the Davidsons’ showroom.
