The search is on to find the next star from the county as a popular competition makes its return.
Auditions for Northumberland’s Got Talent are due to take place on Tuesday, May 13, setting the stage for the grand final as part of The Big Event 3 on Saturday, June 21.
The family fun day, which is organised by charity Leading Link, is in its third year and last year’s event was attended by more than 2,000 people.
Previous winners of the competition have included dancing duo K&C – alias Kaitlyn Wright and Connor Scott – singer Chloe Wealleans-Watts, ‘Cat in the Hat’ Lucy Conroy and most recently trio Beth Little, Emily Wallace and Eleanor Monaghan, a.k.a BEE.
Unlike in previous years, this year there are limited audition spaces available and no individual can appear in more than one act.
Jonny Hall, assistant manager of Leading Link, said: “Northumberland’s Got Talent is in its seventh year and looking at those that have won the competition, its success speaks for itself. After an amazing The Big Event event last year, we are expecting in excess of 2,000 people on the field at Attlee Park in Bedlington on the day and so this competition is a fantastic opportunity to show off your talents on a massive stage.
“Whether you audition and take part, support a friend or family member, or simply come along for a good day under the sun, you cannot afford to miss The Big Event this year.”
Auditions for Northumberland’s Got Talent will take place on a timeslot system between 2.30pm and 6pm at The Lodge, in the grounds of St Benet Biscop High School in Bedlington.
Places must be booked. To apply, fill in the online form at www.leadinglink.co.uk or contact the Leading Link team on 01670 820088.
For the first time, the winner of the competition will take home a very special prize, which will be announced at a later date.
