A Morpeth Town councillor has been very successful in her first UK-wide floral event.

At the Pelargonium and Geranium Society Open National Show in Leeds, Rachel Moore – who represents the Stobhill ward – entered five plants into the Novice classes. She won first prize for her basic green leafed zonal plant (Patricia Andrea) and tricoloured leaved plant (Excalibur), and second for flowers called Lady Evelyn, Silver Lady and South African Sun. This meant she received the Roy Outen Memorial Shield for most prize money in the section.
