Showing off home produce

An annual village festival is marking its fifth anniversary this weekend.

The Stannington Make, Bake, Grow and Show event will take place in the Village Hall on Saturday, with the Northumberland Pipes and Drums helping county councillor Eileen Armstrong to get proceedings under way at 2pm.

The show includes a smoothy bike, whacky wheelbarrow race, dog show, raffle, children’s egg and spoon race and games, as well as the usual produce classes.

An auction of entries will be held afterwards at the Ridley Arms, at 7pm. Admission costs £1.50 adults.
