Six cub scouts from the 6th Morpeth troop have successfully achieved the Chief Scout’s Silver Award, which is the highest accolade you can get in cubs.

To gain the award, Ben Belshaw, Henry Brett (who was not available for the picture), Maisie Chesterson, Daniel Davison, Cameron Twynholm and Tallulah Wendt did six activity or staged activity badges of their choice and completed seven challenge awards.

All six are part of the troop’s Wednesday cub scout group and group leader Roz Davison said: “Badges and awards are an important part of the cub programme.

“They provide a vast array of activities that enrich the experience of the group and are a great way of rewarding them.”
