A holiday park in Northumberland is taking its first steps into the world of the fun run.
Cresswell’s Golden Sands Holiday Park will stage the five-mile event on Saturday to raise funds for St Oswald’s Hospice.
Runners are invited to don fancy dress, and already tutu treaders and patriotic England-clad contestants have signed up.
Event organiser Sandra Thompson said: “We’re hoping people will turn out in force to support and take part in Golden Sands’ first ever fun run in aid of St Oswald’s.
“The run is open to everyone, whether you are a serious runner or are taking part purely for fun.
“It will be a great opportunity for people to have fun and raise funds for a very worthy cause.”
The run begins at the caravan park in Beach Road at 11am. Runners can register from 9am on the day and prizes will be given for the best costume.
The sporting celebrations continue at the park on Sunday with a World Cup Carnival Day.
Visitors can try out giant football zorbs, take afternoon tea and enjoy face-painting and more.
There will also be special offers on static caravans.
