TOP prizes are on offer as Northumberland County Council is continuing the summer feelgood factor.
Over the six-week school holidays, the authority has been highlighting the hidden gems of the region by running a blog featuring guest bloggers and offering suggestions for fun days out in Northumberland.
Farmers’ markets, castles, and ghostly tales of haunted houses are just some of the topics explored to encourage people to try out new destinations.
And to celebrate the success of the new #NLandFUN community on Twitter, the council is running an online competition where one lucky winner will receive six family tickets to some of the county’s most popular attractions.
There is also an opportunity to gain bonus entries by getting your friends to enter.
This new online initiative offers the chance for smaller local organisations and businesses to use the platform to promote their products and services. The thinking is that the more people that get involved, the more beneficial it is for the entire community.
Coun Neil Bradbury, executive member for customer relations and culture, said: “Summer can be a demanding time for individuals and families with small children to come up with ideas to keep them entertained.
“It is great to be involved in an incentive to promote business growth in such an innovative way, as we all know the new technology/digital age is something that affects everybody.”
