A STANNINGTON charity received a funding boost via a special golf day.

Morpeth-based independent financial advisers Pollard & Smiles Ltd raised £1,073 for the Toby Henderson Trust at the event, which took place at Longhirst Hall Golf Club.

Amec UK agreed to match this amount so the charity, which supports families affected by autism, received £2,146.

Steven Smiles from Pollard & Smiles Ltd said: “We’re very grateful to all those who played and contributed and also Graham Chambers and his staff at Longhirst.

“Many thanks to Mavis and Jack Pollard and Alison and Ron Sanderson for their help on the day.

“And congratulations to my colleague Stephen Pollard for achieving a hole-in-one during the event.”
