Three injured in collision on Ponteland road

Three people were taken to hospital following a two-vehicle collision in Ponteland yesterday.

Police were called at 3.25pm and the fire and rescue service and ambulance services also attended. The incident took place on Rotary Way (B6545), which is located between the Dobbies roundabout and the B6323 at Darras Hall.

They found that the incident involved a BMW car and Nissan Qashqai.

The road was closed to allow the casualties to be dealt with. Three people, two women and a man, were transported by road to the RVI in Newcastle for further treatment.

They were kept in hospital overnight, but their injuries are not believed to be serious.

Both vehicles were removed from the scene and substantial debris was cleaned from the road.
